My computer hates me - again

What the fuck, after years upon years of getting the "just sound" treatment from my media player I finally believed I had all necessary codecs to play every shit available. But no, this one new type of avi.file won`t cooperate. In no player whatsoever. Googled solution? Get DivX. I have DivX so SHUT UP, Google.
And my searcher-program helpfully tells me I have everything all neatly installed. If I did, don`t you think the file would work, stupid program? *headdesk*

If all you're getting is a picture without sound, then get VLC. So far this player actually plays everything (and you can make screen-caps with it! *g*).

I had the picture-no-sound-problem a few weeks ago and VLC was the solution.

I have the reverse problem. I only get sound but no picture. And the player is trying to dl a codec but then I get the error message and I`m back to square one. :(

You could also try "ZOOM PLAYER"?

I usually use the tsunami filter pack and I've never had any trouble...
