I won't be posting SPN ep reviews for the foreseeable future, not because I particularly disliked the episodes - in fact, I did really like them - but because currently I KNOW that if I engaged in posting and reading discussion/reviewing/meta, it would spoil my enjoyment of the show.

I know what the current sentiment is and whatever, I will say one short thing: I have a favourite character on the show (it's not hard to make out who by reading my lj) and I'm perfectly FINE with him right now so if you're not, don't tell me, mkay? By which I mean, don't tell me here, I know perfectly well how to skip posts in other ljs.

And this is not a thing about me not being able to handle criticism of a fictional character - I have liked both the clear favourites and the hated-by-all-but-three-people characters in shows, so, really my like/dislike doesn't hinge on majority vote - I just don't want to right now.

Totally have the near-end-of-vacation-blues atm and I really need fandom to be pure fun right now so possibly reading some fic, possible even writing some fic and ignoring everything else. :-D

I know the feeling. For me it's mainly that I really have fun watching the eps and then I come here (well, to LJ in general, not YOUR entries) and everyone seems to be writing about how bad they are. For reasons I can even comprehend most of the time, but you said it, ignorance is bliss.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

I've done my fair share of nit-picking because that is how I tend to watch shows I'm really invested in - I have even occasionaly done some fandom reading on shows I just watch casually and most of the things discussed either fly right over my head or I didn't really care - but even I am put off right now so maybe I'll stick to just watching and wait out for fandom to calm down a bit (or not). *g*

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Thanks. I'm dreading Monday a bit, it will be nice to see colleagues again but the workload that is sure to have accumulated in two weeks, shudders.

Sure, me too. But I'm not talking about nitpicking, I'm talking about taking every detail of the story one doesn't like and spinning it so it seems the complete episode or even season was a waste of time. That's what gets me. If you don't find a single nice thing to say about the ep/season/characters/whatever then why watch it at all?

What do you mean "accumulated workload"? Don't your colleagues take over for you when you're gone? o.O

Well, in theory they would but we've been so swamped for months now that nobody can really afford to take on even a single case from anybody else. And I get about 20 to 30 or so new cases a week. I was at 230 unfinished ones before I went into vacation so maybe I'll be cracking the 300 soon.

They will have likely flipped through my mail to see if anything was truly urgent - and by urgent we're talking last notice urgent - but everything else is left. It's the same thing really for everybody when they go on vacation. Sigh.

More than 230 cases?! Holy shit, what are you doing that you need to cover so many individual cases?? Similar thing [livejournal.com profile] esda (still) does?

Project work is different, of course. My projects are on a schedule and NEED to continue, even when I'm not around, so the guys have to jump in for me next week. Still feels weird to leave everything to them again, and I keep on hoping I gave them all the info they require. (Well, if I left anything out they can call me.)

I hope your office situation turns out far better than you could possibly imagine! ;-)

Grusel.

I hope your office situation turns out far better than you could possibly imagine! ;-)

Thanks, maybe I caught a lucky week or so. :)

Oh Mann, kein Wunder.

*lach*
