Jensen has made the 100 Hottest list atAfterelton.com which I understand to be voted for by gay fans of actors/musicians/athletes.
Interestingly he has made the jump from spot 35 last year to 13 this year. Go Jensen. :)

I wonder if his role in Ten Inch Hero contributed to it? Some photoshoots? Or has the show drawn more attention? I would find it curious because Season 3 has gotten a lot of explicit criticism for the gay jokes (as well as sexism etc).

There are some big name actors who dropped off a few spots and I`d think it was because they didn`t have a big movie out in the last year, thus fading in attention a little bit. Whereas other actors made the list/climbed higher because of the reverse? For example John Barrowman went from 10th place last year to almost winning this year presumably because Torchwood put him more out there for people to notice.
Then again some guys dropped really badly (Taye Diggs, Matthew McConaughey) so I wonder why that is. Have they suddenly become so much un-hotter to the voters?

What cracked me up was one guy from a German soap making it on the list. Do people in the US watch "Verbotene Liebe/Forbidden Love"? Because hey, my grandmother loved that show. *g*
Of course some choices elude me too as I find T.R.Knight to be as sexy as yoghurt.

Don't tell me you haven't heard about the Ollian-Fandom and how youtube makes people from the US wish they'd learned German at school? Cause even *I* have heard of it :D

There are large parts on my flist totally in love with it *shakes head*

Here's what I know: VL has a gay storyline now that some people uploaded to the internet--not the entire episodes but really just the Ollian scenes. Other people wrote subtitles and thus began the story...people from all over the world began watching it. I've seen people from the US and Canada fangirling over it. (Apparently, they're now beginning to write subtitles in different languages too). And the actors get fan mail ("EVEN FROM WOMEN!" as one of them was shocked to find) from all over the world.

Also it seems that an US soap introduced a gay storyline but more or less dropped it because of some protest from Chistian groups, so the US fans get their kicks elsewhere now. THE END :D

(And the reason I know this is because I've got [livejournal.com profile] frogspace on my flist :)

Ooookay. :) And of course people can watch whatever they like but somehow I can`t see this soap as anything other than grandmother-material. *g*

[livejournal.com profile] frogspace says that nevermind the acting, the storyline is completely old-school slash including the dialogue and everything ;-)

I think I`ve hit my non-surmountable stumbling block already when I saw a picture over on the list. Not pretty enough for me to slash. :)
Yes, I`m that shallow and proud of it. :D

(So, okay, I write Wincest but that's not really Slash. It's Wincest :D )

But according to that meta on slash/Wincest/RPS, you already are on the dark side of the fandom. It only takes one little bite from the apple/Wincest fic and you`ll be expelled from paradise forever. Demonic RPS is sure to follow on that path of degeneration. :-p

Well, considering the RPSer have the moral high ground in this fandom, as soon as I've written my first Wincest NC-17 porn there's no way for me to be redeemed :D

I thought Supernatural was the fandom where RPS has the moral high ground. If you're already writing wincest, you've just skipped the RPS part. ;)

The gay storyline is actually quite good and the kissing scenes were beautifully done, especially the second one.

Yes. Yes, they do. And how did you miss this? *g* It's the most slashy slash ever written. It's so slashy that there is no fanfic whatsoever (which makes me sad) because the show already does everything. But there are a ton of vids. Wheeeeeee!! :)

Honestly no idea. Thing is, I really don`t like soaps, like really, really not so therefore I never watch any of them.

Neither does anyone (well, maybe two exceptions) who follows the Christian/Oliver storyline. Watching five minutes of every odd episode and then maybe nothing for weeks before the next five minutes are on isn't exactly watching a soap, but if it's not your thing (great kissing notwithstanding) then it's not your thing. If you ever wonder what you're missing, here is the subtitled playlist and here is the playlist without subtitles. ;) You can even take a shortcut because it's enough to watch the clips between January 7th (page 2) and April 16th (page 5). Or just watch a few vids. After all, vid watching is not watching a soap. :P

Huh? It's strange but i never heard something about explicit criticism for the gay jokes from my gay griends. Funny but they understand that sort of humor well and it never bother them. It's straight women who always look for something to defend find them offensive...

I think that`s true. And there is certainly a point of oversensitivity in fandom. Myself, it hasn`t bothered me on a political correctness scale but I like my jokes to be sprinkled out, not make a running gag. Same with the eating thing, way cuter before the overuse.

Maybe it depends on the view of the person cos for me they never overuse gay joke thing - it's not that often and i'd say straight men here use them way often then our boys. So for me it's ok. As to eating 'problem' i see it as inside joke - more like fun for fun for one minute to relax when they can so for me it's ok too. See? In this show they use so much drama and angst (and right to use them) that every moment they can use something else even simple as eating - they grab and use, otherwise people complain that there's too much tears. They just try to balance things. Maybe not always aptly but at least they try.
