Fresh Blood

The CW seems to be the last network that gets on premiering its new shows/new Seasons. Starting with the vampire block. I was curious how both would do as Vampire Diaries Season 4 was rocky and The Originals backdoor Pilot had baby-gate.

I thought one was fun though instead of Stelena or Delena are they sneakily trying to build up Deremy as the new power couple of the show? I mean, I like them but that scene on the road with the touching and the music and the romanc-y vibe of it all was a bit...odd.

I don`t think I`ve ever seen the characters be as happy as during the first few minutes of the episode. Never once in the entire show. That, too, felt weird. I also feel bad for them because they will be back to their shit lifes in no time. I fear Damon will go bonkers because he kinda had no reference for happiness before which IMO semi-protected him from the drearyness spell that befell all the others.

The only one who didn`t have fun is Stefan. The same can not be said for Paul Wesley who was kinda adorable as he tried to keep himself from jumping up and down in glee and proclaim "hooray, I love playing an asshole, leave Stefan at the bottom of the quarry for all eternity". And I just, it cracks me up and all because he never made a beef on how he felt about the character he plays but good god, why did he ever audtion for Stefan in the first place? He obviously wants to play villainous roles. Not Stefan-roles.

Stefan`s hallucinations are a shrink`s goldmine, though. I KNOW the scenes were not supposed to come off this way but does he secretely think Elena hates the hell out of him? Because Hallucination!Damon, the supposed devil on his shoulder was compassionate and gave him good, loving advice while hallucination!Elena, bathed in the "angel on my shoulder and twu wuv" light of lens flares that would make J.J.Abrams proud? Worst. advice. ever. Would only tell that to me worst enemy.

Then again, real life Elena hilariously has Klaus, Kol and Rebekah Mikaelson in her phone`s contact list. So who knows what she really does tell her worst enemies.

And the other one was Elijah

Redoing the backdoor Pilot from a different POV? Okay in concept.

Two problems, though. Number one, the backdoor Pilot wasn`t that great in the first place. Number two, the audience will be confused as fuck by why the apparent central character Elijah here will be swapped out for cameo!Klaus as the lead in the actual show. At least keep the two shows paired with each other. Very odd.

Klaus, I love your pony-drawing self, but for the love of God, stop daggering family members in the middle of conversations. And stop saying "I haven`t cared about anything in decades" while tears stream down your cheeks. You know, again. Tears stream down your cheeks as you mass-murder hybrids, paint snowflakes and flirt with Caroline. Tears stream down your cheeks ALL THE TIME. You are the least not car-y vampire in the history of vampirism. And even your friend Magellan couldn`t help you navigate to the location of the off-switch.

Elijah is great as always and alongside Katherine the only vampire (haha, pardon the pun, Kat) who acts his age. The others are stuck in adolescence.

Now with TVD, from everything I heard, Paul Wesley for sure is halfway out the door. And they can`t create evil stories for him for eternity to keep him onboard. And Dobrev and Somerhalder aren`t that interested to go on forever either, especially now I guess.

Yup, but I distinctly remember that we thought the same of Jared and Jensen - and look where we are now.

I really dig Oliver as a character but I can totally see how he would leave one flat. And the show just isn`t offering enough of something else if the main character doesn`t engage you. Shallowly, I just love the action/stunt scenes. :)

No, Oliver doesn't engage me at all. To be honest I was more engaged by Smallville's Green Arrow - and I don't like that actor either.
To be honest the worst for me is Oliver's voice over. That actor is soooo bad at this, it really hurts my ears.

So the only one that stuck out really was that "100". They will probably find a way to fuck that up but it had a bit of a Hunger Games vibe to it that I liked.

One can hope. I might also be teenage "Lost" with attacking Mutants *g*

Maybe they served as a cautionary tale to others, though. :D Don`t sign on for too long, people, you could have a part in the ever-growing Marvel-verse otherwise. Yup, still bitter about that.

In the beginning, I didn`t think much of him as an actor but now find him surprisingly good in playing a stoic, broody character as well as the whiny playboy in the flashbacks.

Voice-overs on the other hand rarely ever work for me, no matter the actor. There is just something so cheesy about it. The ultimate lazy button for writers who can`t bother to show those things through actual scenes.

I might also be teenage "Lost" with attacking Mutants *g*

Maybe they will build a little garden. WITH a fence. *g*
