The CW seems to be the last network that gets on premiering its new shows/new Seasons. Starting with the vampire block. I was curious how both would do as Vampire Diaries Season 4 was rocky and The Originals backdoor Pilot had baby-gate.

I thought one was fun though instead of Stelena or Delena are they sneakily trying to build up Deremy as the new power couple of the show? I mean, I like them but that scene on the road with the touching and the music and the romanc-y vibe of it all was a bit...odd.

I don`t think I`ve ever seen the characters be as happy as during the first few minutes of the episode. Never once in the entire show. That, too, felt weird. I also feel bad for them because they will be back to their shit lifes in no time. I fear Damon will go bonkers because he kinda had no reference for happiness before which IMO semi-protected him from the drearyness spell that befell all the others.

The only one who didn`t have fun is Stefan. The same can not be said for Paul Wesley who was kinda adorable as he tried to keep himself from jumping up and down in glee and proclaim "hooray, I love playing an asshole, leave Stefan at the bottom of the quarry for all eternity". And I just, it cracks me up and all because he never made a beef on how he felt about the character he plays but good god, why did he ever audtion for Stefan in the first place? He obviously wants to play villainous roles. Not Stefan-roles.

Stefan`s hallucinations are a shrink`s goldmine, though. I KNOW the scenes were not supposed to come off this way but does he secretely think Elena hates the hell out of him? Because Hallucination!Damon, the supposed devil on his shoulder was compassionate and gave him good, loving advice while hallucination!Elena, bathed in the "angel on my shoulder and twu wuv" light of lens flares that would make J.J.Abrams proud? Worst. advice. ever. Would only tell that to me worst enemy.

Then again, real life Elena hilariously has Klaus, Kol and Rebekah Mikaelson in her phone`s contact list. So who knows what she really does tell her worst enemies.

And the other one was Elijah

Redoing the backdoor Pilot from a different POV? Okay in concept.

Two problems, though. Number one, the backdoor Pilot wasn`t that great in the first place. Number two, the audience will be confused as fuck by why the apparent central character Elijah here will be swapped out for cameo!Klaus as the lead in the actual show. At least keep the two shows paired with each other. Very odd.

Klaus, I love your pony-drawing self, but for the love of God, stop daggering family members in the middle of conversations. And stop saying "I haven`t cared about anything in decades" while tears stream down your cheeks. You know, again. Tears stream down your cheeks as you mass-murder hybrids, paint snowflakes and flirt with Caroline. Tears stream down your cheeks ALL THE TIME. You are the least not car-y vampire in the history of vampirism. And even your friend Magellan couldn`t help you navigate to the location of the off-switch.

Elijah is great as always and alongside Katherine the only vampire (haha, pardon the pun, Kat) who acts his age. The others are stuck in adolescence.

lol, that scene was indeed odd. Though Deremy might be the only thing which makes this show interesting for me again *g*
After last season I was pretty much bored and annoyed with all the remaining TVD characters.

They were my favourite part of the Premiere, indeed. :D And from interviews, I think they`ll come along nicely this year.

The show overall, I don`t think it will ever be as good again as Seasons 1 and 2 but still kinda works for me. And it`s probably not going to go on beyond Season 6.

Realistically, I don`t see the Originals outlasting more than 1 Season. That leaves me with Arrow on the CW. And maybe that new show "100", the teaser looked great. Still not entirely sure this network can survive longterm.

Really? On this network? You're sure they are not desperate enough to give it 10 seasons? Other CW shows come to mind... *g*

Realistically, I don`t see the Originals outlasting more than 1 Season.

I don't know, I'm not fond of the baby plot - nor the Marcel plot. I have a hard time believe that they should not simply kill Marcel.. or torture him until he tells his big secret.
But I'm still hoping they come with something interesting. I mean if this show works like TVD, they will have resolved all this and have completely different plots by episode 1.04 latest *g*

That leaves me with Arrow on the CW.

Weren't you watching Beauty and The Beast? *g*

Arrow bores me so much. I think I will still give it another chance this season, but fact is I don't give a fuck about any of the characters. And I'm kinda giving up hope that that will ever change.

And maybe that new show "100", the teaser looked great.

I think I watched all the teasers and wasn't fond of any of the CW ones : ( Even the ones the sounded interesting had that bland CW teen show look.
So far only Sleepy Hollow made it to my "keep list"... and Agents of SHIELD. Which wasn't as strong as expected - but on the other hand I didn't like Firely until we were 5 episodes in, either. So I'm guessing MAoS will find its footing once we had some character episodes.

Yeah but those other shows had the actors stupidly signing on that far in advance. :p And considering Jensen`s "please kill me now" look in every interview and appearance since Comic Con? He wishes for a time machine to fix that. As do I.

Now with TVD, from everything I heard, Paul Wesley for sure is halfway out the door. And they can`t create evil stories for him for eternity to keep him onboard. And Dobrev and Somerhalder aren`t that interested to go on forever either, especially now I guess.

I doubt they`d continue the show without one of the main three.

I don't know, I'm not fond of the baby plot - nor the Marcel plot.

Me neither. And the teenage super-witch in the attic just made me roll my eyes. Okay, they had to give him something to balance the scales but the obvious answer on these shows is always magic-ex-machina.

I think I would have more fun seeing them build New Orleans in the flashbacks. That could be fun.

Hee. That is true. *g*

Weren't you watching Beauty and The Beast? *g*

Oh, I totally forgot about that. Bodes well for my interest level, huh? I think it works as a pure, cheesy romance story but it`s probably not going to go beyond a second Season either. The ratings were already bad last year and I don`t see them improving or even holding steady.

Arrow bores me so much. I think I will still give it another chance this season, but fact is I don't give a fuck about any of the characters. And I'm kinda giving up hope that that will ever change.

I really dig Oliver as a character but I can totally see how he would leave one flat. And the show just isn`t offering enough of something else if the main character doesn`t engage you. Shallowly, I just love the action/stunt scenes. :)

Hm, the Tomorrow People looked very bland and formulaic. Then there was this Roswell redo that looked abysmal. I don`t even know what they were thinking with "Reign". Oh yeah, I do: teenage romance in a period piece. *headdesk*

So the only one that stuck out really was that "100". They will probably find a way to fuck that up but it had a bit of a Hunger Games vibe to it that I liked.

So far only Sleepy Hollow made it to my "keep list"...

Agreed. Loved it so far. I was dreading this time-travelling Ichabod thing so much but the writing and the actors especially are pulling it off.

I think the hype and expectations for the show were too high after the Avengers. The characters are just too bland right now but you`re right about Firefly taking time as well. I remember being bored all too hell during the Pilot.

It`s not bad, it`s just pretty standard so far.

Yup, but I distinctly remember that we thought the same of Jared and Jensen - and look where we are now.

No, Oliver doesn't engage me at all. To be honest I was more engaged by Smallville's Green Arrow - and I don't like that actor either.
To be honest the worst for me is Oliver's voice over. That actor is soooo bad at this, it really hurts my ears.

One can hope. I might also be teenage "Lost" with attacking Mutants *g*

Maybe they served as a cautionary tale to others, though. :D Don`t sign on for too long, people, you could have a part in the ever-growing Marvel-verse otherwise. Yup, still bitter about that.

To be honest the worst for me is Oliver's voice over. That actor is soooo bad at this, it really hurts my ears.

In the beginning, I didn`t think much of him as an actor but now find him surprisingly good in playing a stoic, broody character as well as the whiny playboy in the flashbacks.

Voice-overs on the other hand rarely ever work for me, no matter the actor. There is just something so cheesy about it. The ultimate lazy button for writers who can`t bother to show those things through actual scenes.

I might also be teenage "Lost" with attacking Mutants *g*

Maybe they will build a little garden. WITH a fence. *g*

Hehe, true. So no wonder Klaus never found the way to his off-switch. :D
