Huh?

Even as someone who liked the Daredevil movie okay, this bit of casting news makes me raise my eyebrows. I think his strength lies in directing. This is basically a reboot of the character, not that much beyond the latest reboot.

I will certainly give it a chance - the casting of Heath Ledger as the Jokes back then caused me to go "huh?" as well and I think he turned in a brilliant performance - because Batman is my fave superhero and I think a combined Supes/Batman movie has potential but...hm.

That said, there are other actors I would have prefered. And one unrealistic choice I would have personally prefered very much and wish someone would rescue from their current position of drek and constant under-valuation.

Oh, you got me curious now.

Heh, yeah, it`s Jensen Ackles who now suffers not only open belittling and mockery from the producers/writers on the show as the character he plays but even as himself outside of it.

From this year`s Comic con:
Fan-question about acting challenges playing different things for the character.
Jensen awkwardly answering that Dean`s material more or less stays the same.
JP gushing about the five hundred versions of Sam, possessed, soulless, whatever and then saying how glad he is to get those opportunities because otherwise it would be dreadfully boring, it would be like...
Carver, the current showrunner: "yeah, it would be like playing Dean, hahaha."

Yeah, fuck you both.

Like I said, I know it was completely unrealistic but I wanted some cosmic karma. Sigh.

But honestly, I'm also the only person who HATED Christian Bale and his Constant Look of Surprise as Bruce Wayne, so it can only get better.

I really loved Batman Begins. And liked the other movies as well. And Bale worked well for me in the part.

Oddly enough, looking back you know who actually made a decent Batman? Val Kilmer. I rewatched his run a few weeks ago preparing to be cringing and found his performance oddly...good.

I always thought it was underappreciated Batman. The movie and Kilmer. Was it perfect? Nope. But it wasn`t the worst comic book movie I`ve seen by a longshot.

(Mostly I'm just annoyed in advance that we probably won't get a Robin AGAIN. *sigh*)

I can understand it, it`s already a gamble to make a big Supes/Batman movie mesh-up. Without giving Batman his own stand-alone movie beforehand.

If they`d done that, I think it would have needed two, the first one all Batman (the re-reboot) and the second one introducing Robin. Then, they could have done the duo with Superman.

But they are clearly desperate to catch up to Marvel`s Avengers and get the Justice League underway and doing solo Batmans would have set them back at least 4-6 more years.
