Back to real life

Checking in back from vacation...

Had a wonderful time - cruise ships are the height of decadence yet also the height of relaxation - but believe it or not, I managed to get a sunburn even in

Fireweed - the "state flower", it`s surprisingly tasty in jello-form.

Can`t really see it in the pic but glacier ice is bright blue because of the condensed oxygen in it.

Yup, I went on a hiking tour into the wilderness. And it was worth it.

Now this should give it away. And nope, it wasn`t Santa`s backyard. *g*

There is more of those around than people.

Seriously, it`s "all you can eat" for 24/7. The ice cream station alone ruined me.

AHAHA, and there I was thinking all these nature walks would have compensated for cruise food. ;)

But really, when [livejournal.com profile] mamoru22 and I spent our vacation in this Mexico resort a few years back it was the same: In the morning you were waiting for the breakfast buffet to open, then you read a book at the pool, waiting for the lunch buffet to open, then there was an afternoon snack bar, and in the evening the dinner buffet. So much food, so little exercise!

I probably would have needed to walk through all of Alaska and back to compensate the buffet extravanganza. *g*

I know. *hands* The ship had a gym and all even but I`m not really a gym person anyways so apart from doing a few laps in the pool, it was lying by the pool.

Oh, and our buffets never closed, that is at least one or two were always open so you never even had to wait.
