Dass ich das noch erleben darf...

Watched Green Lantern. Nothing special, nothing too bad, I found it okay. Have always liked Ryan Reynolds and liked him in this as well.
It did, however, feature a scene I have wanted to see in a superhero movie/show since I was about 9 years old Our hero has donned his costume, complete with a little Zorro-mask and approaches "the girl" (who is a longtime childhood friend of his). And to her credit and my infinite glee it takes her about thirty seconds to determine WHO HE IS.
And upon questioned on it, she even says that she frigging knows him so of course she will recognize him even if can't see his cheekbones.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, movie gods.
I can not describe how much this means to me. After watching Zorro and Batman and Superman and seeing all those people who KNOW Diego, Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent stand right in front of them yet do not recognize their build, hair, eyes, voice, the way they move or anything of that kind drove me nuts.
And yeah, I know Batman uses a growly voice to disguise himself in the new movies. As well as a half-facial mask. Yeah, that totally hides your appearance even to your closest of friends.
The silly little scrap of cloth Zorro wears? Argh. And lets not even talk about glasses off, hair back, voila, Superman.
I'm willing to make concessions for Spiderman since he uses a full-facial mask but again, build, voice, way of moving? You gotta be kidding me.
So, Green Lantern girl, my hat is off to you.
