Wow, things were happening so fast in this one. But seriously, is the Isle of the Blessed like three miles away from Camelot or something? It took literally no time to get there.

The hunting trip. Everybody sets eyes on the beast - everybody runs. But it was cute how Arthur tried to comfort a fearful looking Merlin. And how he came back after Merlin fell down.

Uther, Uther, Uther. "Lalalala, powerful magic can't do shit to me." Did you not watch the first Season? Powerful magic did do shit to you all the time.

Morgana looked half-crazed here in full Cassandra manner.

Aww, Arthur pushes Merlin out of the way.

Arthur. Noooooooo.

Uther carrying him over the courtyard and then the knights taking over was very sad.

Merlin runs to the Slash Dragon and would happily bargain away his life right there on the spot.

The people with candles, filling the whole yard. Nice to show how the people love their Prince.

Gwen/Arthur came a bit out of left field but I think in the end her less-than-pleased looks after Uther right before smiling widely at Arthur showed that for the moment at least, it IS about his potential as king. And really, it seems everybody has high hopes that the second Arthur takes the throne things will get magically better - or just magical. And, um, sure Arthur is much more open than Uther but he has been raised by Uther. He will not open Camelot to sorcerers on the spot.

Nimueh is the high priestess still? That old religion doesn't kick people out for evil-doings, huh?

Arthur's head in Merlin's lap. Squee.

Tag. Hunith is it. And really, last week, I thought Merlin would have to decide between Arthur and Gaius as two people he loves the most while Hunith's ears in Ealdor were burning. But kudos to the show for not forgetting a tertiary character because in this context she should be important. Of course the other problem is that for the audience it's kinda simple "Hunith for Arthur? Yup, I can live with that." *g*

The Slash Dragon reveals his true motive: he wants freedom. Yeah well, I didn't think he did it out of the goodness of his dragonly heart. But I read a couple of times he said "I'm your king" whereas I'm 100 % sure he said "I'm your KIN" to Merlin, as in kindred magical souls.

The goodbye scene by the fireplace with the long, loving looks and the almost gentle bantering and the sad little music in the background? As coupl-y as anything I've seen.

Tag. Gaius is it.

Merlin is less than pleased. Maybe if he keeps it up, finally someone he doesn't care about will die. And what do you know.

Tag. Nimueh is it.

That was some hardcore power-up there that Merlin did and I'm sure by the dragon's furious cries and Morgana's ongoing Cassandra looks that things will have consequences still.

Also, diese Schweine vom Cast haben alle gelogen. Es gab gar keinen Cliffhanger. *g*

Now sets clock for show's return. Sometime in a year. Sigh.
