Taking a break from writing the Horseman-Epilogue as well as finishing up my
spn_summergen project, I`ll offer a short little vignette in my Cheese-verse.
Title: A Cheesy Summer
Pairing/Rating: Jared/Jensen, NC-17
Genre: RPS AU, Crack
Summary: Just a lazy day on the beach
Word count: 879
Disclaimer: I own jack, least of all Jared and Jensen. This is also very, very much fiction.
A Cheesy Summer
Jared stretched lazily on the brightly coloured beach towel, luxuriating in the feeling of sun, fresh air and Jensen by his side. He'd been a bit miffed earlier when Jensen had forbidden him to take off his swimming trunks – Jared didn't understand the logic in that lying on the beach nearly naked seemed to be okay while lying there fully naked was not.
This was a concept Jared still found himself very confused by. In the time since the transformation he had already gathered the humans' near pathological need to cover their bodies. On some level Jared could see the necessity, no natural fur meant humans had to create their own. But there was also this thing Jensen called “modesty” which Jared really, really did not get, even now. At least not with pretty humans like him and Jensen. Why shouldn't they be allowed, if not to say encouraged, to show off their pleasing bodies to everybody.
If the Internet was any indication, there was an ever-hungry audience for that sort of thing. Not to mention what humans called “porn” seemed to be viewed as an exception to the rule of modesty. Therefore, when they'd arrived here earlier, and people started taking off their clothes, Jared had just naturally assumed that the beach was like porn. In fact he had been looking forward to performing certain acts that were otherwise also considered not suitable for the public. Unfortunately, Jensen had quickly nixed that idea, same as he'd nixed the website Jared had only created to share their love with everybody.
Jared pouted a bit at the memory of losing “Bendy Jensen” along with Internet privileges for a month, but, as usual, his sunny personality didn't let him dwell on past wrongs too long. Which was a good thing when it came to living with Jensen, because, while Jared loved Jensen fiercely, the man could be downright unreasonable sometimes. Still, Jensen had taken him on his first vacation ever – as a habit mice didn't really take lots of them due to the travel arrangements being rather difficult - and Jared was infinitely grateful to Jensen for bringing them here. After all, in the solitude of their motel room Jensen was generally a lot more agreeable to Jared's wishes.
A young man came over to them, carrying a heavy-looking box, strapped to his shoulder.
“Would you care for some ice-cream?” The guy smiled invitingly. “I got all the best flavours.”
Jared perked up at that. He liked ice cream, but so far hadn't hit the jackpot yet, as humans used to say. Now this guy had said they carried the best so maybe… “Cheese, please,” he ordered, smiling hugely.
From the corners of his eyes, Jared could see Jensen biting his lip. It was usually a sign that Jared did something inappropriate again, and Jared frowned, not knowing what it was this time.
The young man looked at him weirdly, as well, apparently searching for words. “Um...um…we don't carry cheese-flavoured ice cream,” he finally said.
Jared was crestfallen. “Why not?” He could barely conceive of such a grave oversight. “You said you had all the good flavours,” he pointed out accusingly.
Once more the man seemed struck speechless. “Well, Sir, cheese is generally not considered—“
Before the man could finish his sentence – and Jared had the sneaking, not to mention horrible suspicion he had been about to denigrate the wonderfulness of cheese – Jensen cut in with a strained voice.
“Make it chocolate and vanilla.”
The man nodded before opening his box and taking out a small, wrapped package before handing it to Jared. “There you go, Sir.”
Jared smiled in thanks before unwrapping his ice cream and taking a few licks, while Jensen pulled out some money from his wallet and gave it to the man. That's another thing that still struck Jared as odd – that people would willingly trade food for pieces of paper and metal. Jensen had once tried to explain it to him, but, convinced he must be missing something, Jared had tried eating one of the coins, which had resulted in a trip to a most gruesome place, called “the dentist”. He shuddered at the memory.
“I hope you like it, Sir?” The man addressed Jared tentatively, clutching his box to him.
Jared bopped his head cheerfully. “It's good.”
The man smiled, seemingly intent on walking away, but Jared felt it would be polite to answer the question to the best of his ability. He sucked some of the chocolate off his treat.
“Of course, it doesn't taste quite as good as my Jensen’s…“ Jared lovingly inclined his head at Jensen, who made a choked, panicked noise, “…cock.”
The man turned a deep shade of red, though, as Jared remarked, not nearly as much as Jensen himself did, and hastily walked away.
Jared shrugged, enjoying his ice cream some more. “You know, this vacation-thing isn't half-bad.”
A snort at his side drew his eyes to Jensen's. Jared frowned. “You don't think so?”
Jensen sighed. “Depends.” Then he lowered his voice. “Will you suck my cock once we get back to our room?”
Jared nodded enthusiastically. As if Jensen really had to ask. “Sure.”
Jensen looked at him, grinning. “Then no, it isn't half-bad.”
