To work...or not to work

No, I`m not dead, I just feel that way. *g*
Have started new job on Monday which seriously cuts into my time for anything. Getting up early, coming home semi-late due to the drive home, I feel there is little left of the day before I need to crawl back into my bed to be able to get up early. Well, I think I need a couple more weeks to settle into a rhythm.
On Monday they told me my workplace is well prepared - in theory. Well, that meant I have NO workplace as in no room, no desk, no phone, no computer, no nothing. Since our department head however went on vacation from Tuesday on, I now use her office. Where I...still can`t work really because I also have no registration for the computer. And since I need database access for ALL possible work I could do, it`s not looking good.
My colleagues - who are really, really nice - can`t log me in because you can only do it once and of course they need to be logged in on their computers. Also not using a programme for a certain amount of time will automatically log you off by which time I`d need the passwords again. And there are different ones for every single programme I`ll be using. Including logging onto Windows in the first place.
The person responsible for handing out these reg numbers is - you guessed it - on vacation. Her sub hemmed and hawed and finally said it`s better to wait till Mrs.K will be back on Monday. Of course then it`s not sure I will actually get the codes, only that we will TALK about it. :-p
So right now I`m going through the "cliffs notes" as in the schooling material on the new programmes I`ll be using, the databases, the subject matter I`ll be dealing with. It`s quite thick and kept me busy so far but this shouldn`t go on too long. Also it looks that when I finally will have computer access we`re all blocked from the internet so no checking flist during day. :/
Tomorrow is a "short day", thank god, than week-end. Woohoo. Also next week is pay-day already. Yay.
