Special snowflakes...

Okay, does anyone want to punch Stefan and Caroline in the faces, like lots and lot and lots?

After being bitchy, judgemental and self-righteous as fuck for the last two episodes, they both seemed to make some headway at the end of the last one. However, no we`re having them back in all their obnoxious glory when they wax poetic on how they just can`t hate KLAUS. Because hey, they`re all murderers.

While the second part is fair point, though Caroline technically isn`t in the same league as Stefan is (or Damon or Klaus or anyone) and likely never will be with her one out-of-control feeding-kill. Neither is Elena really. But basically, it is nice that they may acknowledge how neither of them is a moral person. Not even before the vampirism really. Anyone out of the group is expendable. Always has been, always will be.

So that didn`t bother me. But both are still aparently on their "Damon getting together with Elena is the evilest evil that ever eviled" kink, with Caroline cheerleading Stelena`s epicness and Stefan "Damon is so WRONG for her" Salvatore.

You can do all this and can still have fuzzy warm feelings for Klaus? K.L.A.U.S.?

I have no words and I LIKE Klaus in all his hybrid-ripping, special-snowflake painting glory. At least he isn`t a bloody, fucking hypocrite.

Also, Stefan was shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn how "together" Damon and Elena really were. What the hell was his dramatic flouncing at the end of episode 7 supposed to mean then? Stefan breaks up with her because she has feelings for Damon now (she had them for ages but apparently he can`t handle that anymore but whatever). Then Stefan does a dick move with Jeremy which makes it so Elena can`t live in her own home anymore, prompting her to show up at the Salvatore mansion with her suitcase. Stefan and Damon both answer the door, cue fraught looks all around and then Stefan snittily does a big martyr flounce.

I did assume he expected the hook-up and well, wanted to do a martyr flounce. Like, on purpose. Instead he just left and what, thought Damon and Elena had a little night-cap? Stared each other longingly all night? Played chess?

Normally, I might feel bad for him but the Stefan and Caroline fanclub of "how Stefan is awesome, Damon sucks and Klaus is kinda okay" sucks so much, I can`t.

Right now I feel very bad for Damon. And even Elena. Because irony of ironies, she is more free, more fun and more assertive with Damon than she ever was with Stefan. All this while the show is trying to sell me on a plotline that says she has to literally obey Damon`s every command in the most incosistent and wonky-written way ever.

Also, are we back on Beremy? Or is it Jonnie? While I never particularly disliked them as a couple (though my Jeremy OTP is with Anna), that seems odd.

But of course Damon will stay behind right now so that he can`t learn of the hybrid massacre of 12!!! and figure shit out. Because lets be realistic, he is the only of the group who always figures shit out. I mean, he gets ignored when he does but at least he does. When he says something is iffy, it usually is.

At least I like the dynamic with Jeremy because it always cracked me up that despite Damon snapping Jeremy`s neck, Jer always seemed to like Damon better than Stefan. He treated Stefan as some dude who banged his sister and whose "orders" he`d ignore but he often acts like a younger brother trying to impress a cooler older brother with Damon and despite huffing about it does something when Damon tells him to. Haha.

If they planned that from the beginning, why did nothing on the show point to it before Caroline and Stefan suddenly seemed to pull the whole thing out of their asses?

Apparently the storyline with the hybrids unbreaking their sire bond was supposed to keep the thought fresh in viewers minds.

And sure, enough I read some speculation on Elena turning out to be sire-bonded to Damon just because of it very early on but it`s not like she acted any differently towards him.

The previous to-last-episode even cleared some things up on how a sire bond forms in the first place but it`s like both Stefan and Damon had wax in their ears during that scene, considering their later actions. At least with Damon I can buy it because of his miserable track record in always having Stefan picked over him.

And then of course everything else we learned about the sire bond just muddied the waters.

An interesting theory I read is that Professor Shady has secretely hypnotized Elena into following Damon`s commands, thus getting everybody to believe she is sired to Damon.
