Reporting back for lj-duty ...

Am home safe and sound. Maybe I`ll post some pictures once I sorted through them. There might be some amusing ones of me almost toppling down off a camel which will never ever ever see the light of say. *g*

I need to adjust to the temperatures here first. 5 degrees Celsius? Urgh. The Sahara was noticeably warmer than that. So far I can only say I seriously recommend a Nile cruise as it was the most relaxing, stress-relieving way I have ever travelled in my entire life. And nope, it isn`t just for seniors, it was seriously fun and "let all your worries go". Our ship was done in the Victorian era style so it had something of Agatha Christie`s "Death on the Nile". Without the murder, that is. :D

And because our group is awesome, we got to see the temple of Abu Simbel all alone, after all the tourists were gone. \o/ Believe me, it makes a real difference if you can wander the ancient chambers on your own for a change.

I would not however recommend staying in Cairo any longer than it takes to see the Pyramids (which ain`t that long) because as someone in our group said (accurately): "The pyramids are the ONLY buildings finished here."
