astri13Okay, Supernatural panel is done now and the first spoilers are rolling in. Hilariously, at the panel they were their usual "well, we can't talk about this and that" selves. Only in the last half hour, as the first tweets from the press rounds after the panel start rolling in, they are dropping HUGE spoilers left and right. Ahahahah.
Anyway, it sounds MUCHO better than Robert "please don't open your mouth again" Singer in his last interview.
Apparently, Edlund even explained to Jensen Destiel fanart "it's like Dean being caught in an angelic embrace". Heee.
I'm breaking down the spoilers into themes:
- Purgatory will be told in flashbacks over the Season
- Dean got out with the help of a Purg character of an (evil) nature, probably the casting-called "Benny"
- Dean's Purg time will be explored through his relationship with that character since Dean is kinda indebted to him now
- we will see the limits Purgatory brought the character to
- Jensen was cagey on what aspect of him would be explored there
- the happenings in Purgatory will affect the current storyline
- no word on how long the separation lasted, longer than a summer apparently
edit to say: it will be a year
also, this Season will be about the brothers establishing outside relationships and learning to deal with that, especially the relationships they have made during their separation (this goes equally for Sam)
:
- Cas has not abandoned Dean
- His first appearance will be in ep 2 in Purgatory flashbacks
- he will return but with physical differences - unspecified as to what
- Cas will move a bit back to his old angelic personality (seriously, AGAIN?) though he will have all his memories and experiences intact
- he will be a bit less loopy in Purg because of being in survival mode
- Sam will have walked away from hunting and is now in a happy relationship,
as Jensen has said "he has been smelling roses in his year without Dean"
- his humanness will be explored, probably via the new love interest
edited to add: new LI will only be flashback!chica and done by the time Dean comes back
- Sam will not have looked for Dean or anything but accepted and moved on which causes some initial (but probably brief) tension
- the brothers will be united in going after a common goal, find a mystical power source that has been hinted at
- beat Crowley in a race to get to it
- no word on Bobby being back specifically, the first rumours of him being back were apparently just that, phew

In honesty, I think Misha was being cheeky and it will be Castiel in a new costume. He is currently wearing his trenchcoat over hospital scrubs.

Date: 2012-07-15 09:22 pm (UTC)Well, he "died" some more at the beginning of year 7 and Dean has kept his bloody trenchcoat with him and carried the thing around everywhere so when he met amnesiac Castiel, he handed it right back to him, Cas regained his memories, took the crazy from Sam, got admitted to a mental hospital and has been since wearing his hospital scrubs with the trenchcoat. :D

He might still look though and just not hunt. At least he should have figured out where Dean IS. As Cas points out, it was rather obvious. Maybe he decided that opening a door to Purgatory would be too risky, though, given the givens. It's pretty much like with the Cage. He could ask Death, I presume.
I for one am happy Dean is not being saddled with the civilian "normal" crap this time.

Date: 2012-07-16 12:42 am (UTC)Well, I want to thank you for posting those spoilers that I didn't care enough to go look for myself. My only hope for next season was that we'd get to see more of the boys. Together. So if I know it's not only not be that but the exact contrary, I won't even bother.
It's kind of a relief to have finally taken that decision! I guess I was just waiting the right reason to drop it for good. :P

We'll see how that actually plays out onscreen or if they go back to the same old, same old.
