Since our cat wasn't really feeling well on the Weekend - lying around apathetically, not eating - I took him to the vet again today. An x-ray showed that his spleen had ruptured and a giant gas bubble had formed in his stomach. She said there wasn't anything to do and he was obviously suffering so she had to put him down. Sigh. :(

Rest well, Georgie, I hope you had two good years with us.

It just came really unexpected as he seemed to be getting really better last week but then suddenly deteriorated heavily on the weekend. I'm just glad he isn't suffering anymore so I'll try to keep that in mind.

It's always hard when a pet dies, especially if it comes unexpected. Like you said, I'm glad he doesn't have to suffer anymore, but I do wish he could have stayed with you longer. *many hugs*
