Reaction to the Director`s cut for 2.05 seeing as it was one of the scenes I dreaded most from the sides:

They did the metallic Dune-voice. One brownie point for I love Dune. And did you know it had semi-incestous siblings? ; P

Oooo-kay, they totally did lose the Sam suddenly is all ears part. Two brownie points.

Leaving the ethics of mind-control aside as in the total lack of respect for the dignity of another human being which is why this "naive loveable dork" Andy excuse doesn`t work for me - nobody is so stupid as not to know that is fundamentally wrong and the world is not your candy store - I can live with that scene because everyone here plays to the comedy.

Dean talks like a mile a minute with a big grin on his face, Sam looks like a gaping fish - a gaping fish on a bicycle that is and Andy looks like he might rethink using his powers of mind-control because he obviously picked on weirdos this time. :)

So yes, still don`t like the basic concept of playing mind-control for fun but SPN isn`t the first show to do that but at least they don`t do it here at the expense of just one character.
Buffy did it on "Superstar" with dorky Jonathan yet played it to full-out rape with creepy Warren. *cough* Stargate Atlantis recently did it too from what I hear.
I guess the writers don`t really sit down and think about how they as a person would feel if somebody came in and would make them do stuff against their will. How helpless and violated you would feel.

"Huh" to the big reveal of "I think he might be right"? Sam seemed totally unfazed by it so they totally downplayed any angst potential on this. Also his "shut up" might be annoying because they know of the compulsion but I guess he is thrown here because he didn`t get the effect.

As for his immunity, since it is my theory that the PKs are supposed to form a unit and it makes sense that the mind-control dude shouldn`t be able to control them all, I could deal if every PK-kid is immune to the MK-dudes but not to any other PK-power. Like the premonition guys can still have premonitions about all the other kids, the TK-kids can fling everybody around etc but the mind-controllers who have the trickiest power can`t control them. Because all the others can only hurt each other but the MK could control all of them as a unit. Way too risky if they turn loose cannon.
I guess we`re gonna meet a telepath, maybe an empath. Not sure about firestarters, guess that`s the demon`s gig.
That would mean that it is the only immunity the PKs have regarding psychic powers.

Still be annoyed if they fall into the funny-trap and give the "evil" twin the creepy rape and murder scenes while the little league rapist and thief gets excused, ha ha, but I look forward to this ep more now.
Side note, from the trailer do we think Sam offs Webber? Because that would be quite a step, a human kill? Would be cool if the writers won`t chicken out on this.

And if then in the future Dean goes off and finds some (dark, dangerous) means to counter-effect PK stuff, I`ll be a happy fangirl.

And hopefully the ratings will go up again. Stupid, what was is, baseball? I still think a move to another night would be good. At least they`re re-aring on Sunday, so maybe that gives a boost.

Last week 3.7 Mio, this week 3.2 because some baseball game had double the viewers than last week.

I think the ratings are OK for the timeslot, with the Nr. 1 and 2 shows of the whole week (honestly GA gets 21 and CSI 20 Mio, that`s crazy) there and frankly they have nothing better that wouldn`t be crushed there but I`m sorry for poor SPN. I think they could pull in double the viewers on a good night. They could attract some new viewers. Especially with a little more promotion.

That said, it`s still doing better than VM, OTH and some show I forgot right now. So I don`t think it`s in any real danger.

This week SPN is rerun on Sunday, so if it makes like one or two Mio there with about 3 Mio on Thursday, the overall count would go up to 4-5 Mio. Which is pretty good.

Where did you get the ratings?

I think SPN is one of these shows that could get big by "Mundpropaganda" - which in the end would possibly be even better than dragging in fans from promotion and stuff - eh, I#m tired :-)

TwoP links them. So far ratings have been 3,9 Mio, 3,34 Mio, 3,75 Mio and the 3,2 Mio are the fast nationals and should go up a bit once all numbers from the smaller markets are in.
Retention rate from SV has been pretty consistent though, around 75 %.

Really for this insane spot the numbers are good but the show could easily make 4,5-5 Mio on another night, I think. It did last year.

Yeah, it could be a little cult hit. But the CW could still do a little bit of promotion. Even Kripke commented on the lack of it in an interview.
And someone at TwoP broke down how in one TV special or something there were commercials for all the CW shows and EVERY show got 3 or more while SPN got 1.

They should push the show for all its worth. Stupid 7th Heaven will hopefully end after this year. SV may or may not end but won`t go longer than one more Season, I guess.
Runaway? is already cancelled, OTH has crappy ratings, VM isn`t doing all that well.
They need fresh blood. They squander the potential.

SPN has so much potential to actually - yes, like you said, become big. They should do more promotion, no doubt. On the other hand I'm glad it's not as hyped as Lost only to disappoint everyone, you know?

How's SV doing anyway?

Yeah, Lost lives by its own hype. I think though that won`t happen to a show on the CW anyway. Only the big three networks get the 20 Mio ratings.

And frankly I can`t understand the fascination with "Grey`s Anatomy". I zapped in accidently yesterday and stumbled upon the scene where the lead character begged her boyfriend to take her back and not stay with his wife whom he never mentioned to his beloved girlfriend to better give the wife an entrance a la: "Hey whore." That`s a heroine for woman? Honestly? Even Cameron on House didn`t sink that far.

How's SV doing anyway?

Usually close to 5 Mio, it`s the CWs second-highest show after "America`s Next Top Model".
That`s why they`re probably gonna try to make it one more year because up until now everybody thought it will be the last Season.
Gilmore Gilrs will end this year I think.

And totally OT but wee, I`ve just seen Episode 4. Wee.

Huh? I thought Gilmore Girls was their "Zugpferd"?

GA is... well, it's fun to watch sometimes but it's nothing more than a soap opera. Like Kripke said. people have sex in a hospital.

Ratings went down and it`s in its sixth or seventh? year. Shows tend to get to expensive then because actors demand more money every year.

Like Kripke said. people have sex in a hospital.

That`s exactly it. Entertaining but nothing special. Why is everyone flipping out about how great the writing is and how different and original it is?

Wee!!! You liked?

Yup, already posted my insane ramblings about it. :) The end scene. *sniffle*

I think it's in its 7th year now.

I have no idea. What bothers me most is that of course, they're all surgeons. Because no one cares for the interns, they only heal people you know? Surgeons get to cut, whee!

Yup, already posted my insane ramblings about it. :) The end scene. *sniffle*
