I know they kind of make fun of it like "haha, fire your agents" but seriously, Jensen even BEING on that list is a good thing in my eyes.
Because that's a list ranking actors as far as their potential to draw people to movie theaters by name alone and done by people in the movie business. So, take an actor who has done predominantly TV work, none of that big blockbuster shows/big phenomena and has JUST made his big screen debut (after the survey was conducted)? That they even knew his name to include in the list is great. I skimmed it and there were a lot of names missing from hit shows or smaller shows and frankly a lot of names that made me go "who?"
The chasm between movie and TV might not be as wide anymore but it's still two separate worlds. I betcha Will Smith wouldn't have ranked number 1 when he was on the Fresh Prince. The guy had to work to be where he is today (and as always had a bit of luck with movie choices).
What I don't understand is the relatively high placement of those GoGi people. I mean, really? Their own viewers - and not that many to begin with - can't even be trusted to watch their show when House or AI come on but they're expected to lure masses of people to go see a movie? Uh-uh. Lets not attribute too much to the youth demos.
In other news, Germany's Next Top Model starts today and I feel conflicted because despite my ranting against casting/reality shows that is actually the one I enjoy. I guess, I just have to embrace my inner shallow voyeur. *g*
And in yet other news, if anybody wants a good laugh, go to deadlinehollywooddaily.com and scroll through all the articles on the battle between SAG (the actor's union) and the studios. I started following it because I wanted to be prepared in case of another strike but this union has, well, I don't think there are words. Political implosion? Violating oneself with an iron-rod? And what kills me is that by making every little thing public in pissing contests, they made it a million times worse.
I really used to fear a strike at the beginning of the year. Now, I no longer do. Not one bit.

I bet if the survey was conducted now he would already go a little bit higher.

You know, everytime someone mention GG or even GoGi as you write it, I have to think for five minutes to remember the name of this show. Because two G together will forever be Gilmore Girls to me. My brain is stuck. *headdesk*
In other news, Germany's Next Top Model starts today
Really?! Was it today-wednesday or today-thursday? And on what channel? I LOVE "America's Next Top Model" and I'm sure I'll love the german one too!

Date: 2009-02-12 01:11 am (UTC)Hehe. I increasingly see GG for Gossip Girl because Gilmore Girls has been out now for a while but the occasional mix-up still happens. :)

Date: 2009-02-12 09:21 am (UTC)As to GG people i think the reason they're there is for gossips around them. You know, pure publicity like - people talk about them hence they'll watch them which for me is so not true.

Date: 2009-02-13 12:19 am (UTC)Exactly. If people don't even take the time to watch their show, they won't spend money and time to watch them in movies either.
