I read it last night but still this morning somehow I half-expected a "was a nasty rumour" message. Still feel completely blindsided because I haven`t heard anything about drug scandals or the likes about Heath Ledger. Ever.

Though now I read he was sick with pneumonia and suffering from sleep deprivation so maybe it was just a tragic accident.

Very sad for someone so young and with such a promising future in front of him as well as a little daughter. :(

I did. Hear about his drug problems that is. I read he was ordering drugs over the phone in front of one of his co-stars and with his own daughter there too. He was in deep. But then, it could have been just a tabloid rumor.

I feel so sorry for his family, I don't think he intentionally wanted to give up on his life, maybe it was just a tragic accident. I was so shocked when I read about disgusting people going to his funeral to abuse his family about his role in Brokeback Mountain! People need to have some respect!

This is really disgraceful, the idea of disturbing someone`s funeral to promote their own bullshit. And that over a role he played. Boy, oh boy.

Yeh it's so sickening, I hope the police try and keep them away from his funeral, what his family need right now isn't people interfering shouting abuse over a role he played in a movie! People are so sick!

I never heard of him having drug problems either. Of course, I never read much about him at all, but usually if a celebrity is getting arrested or getting into trouble, it's in the news to a point where even I might hear about it.

But yeah, this is very sad. :-(

It`s so weird imagining he was younger than myself.

Somehow with actors I`ve known from when they were younger this image stays a bit with me, even as they get older. River Phoenix or Jonathan Brandis, I remember as child actors so their passing was a bit "but I knew them when they were little", you know?

Heath I remember from that show Roar which didn`t run long but I believe he was a teenager still when he did it.

Yeah, it's made me think about Freddie Prinze for some reason. He was only 22 or so when he killed himself, and it was a huge shock at the time. It was freaky at first, when Freddie Prinze, Jr., started acting. I hadn't even known that Freddie Prinze had a son. I think he (Jr.) seems sweet and I like him at least somewhat in most things I've seen him in, but it's hard not to think about his father every time I see him or see his name.

I have seen Roar. I recorded several of the episodes and watched a few of them. Heath Ledger was really cute in that show, though the show was a bit silly--but in a really cool kind of way.

The River Phoenix thing freaked me out, too, because I watched him on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers when he was just little, and he was also featured in my book about raising children vegan. The pictures of Phoenix and all his siblings were in the book as examples of healthy vegan children. Now whenever I look at that book, it breaks my heart just a little bit.
