Hey Doc, we have a life one.

Believe it or not but that...didn`t suck for me.

The Good:

I think Ben Edlund has a nice touch for humor and for pretty much the first time this Season I felt like actually watching Dean and Sam. Especially Dean. Welcome back, dude. Didn`t dig the hyper obnoxious person of Krikamblesque proportions.

- Liked the conversation in the car at the beginning though I would have expected a little "I told you to drop it with the deal". But it`s nice seeing Sam come clean about Ruby at least. Just don`t care for big secret storylines.

- Liked the physical comedy for the most part even though I usually HATE slapstick. But they managed to make it cute and not to in your face.

- Sam was such a little boy. "Sit on that chair and don`t even scratch your nose." *pout* *peak* *scratches nose*
Also "I lost my shoe" Teehee.

- I always like me some Gordon who is as singularly obsessed as ever. I bet he scribbles "Sam Winchester must die (and then Dean will be mine)" all over his walls. *G*

- was so-so on the henchmen Gordon hired, maybe the Jesus-freak was a tad much though I still giggled about them once Sam`s luck turned sour

- very Final Destination there with the guy in the beginning

- liked some serious bits with Dean - though not the repetition of the "I read people" line with Bela later, cheapened the first time

- Dean was pretty sharp and on his feet, me likey that, competence is HOT

- Lauren Cohan is in the credits and Katie Cassidy is not - why is that good? Because it means they`re not REALLY in the credits, not like all the time which gives them by default lower status than J2. Call me petty but that`s the way it frigging SHOULD be.

The Bad

- the score is ATROCIOUS, I want the mullet rock back

- also a tad too many characters for me

The Undecided

- Daddy had a locker and the boys, not even Dean, knew about it? Come on, where is John`s other family because apparently his sons didn`t know him one single bit (the keeping of the childhood memorabilia was sweet though)

- Bela - seriously no idea, I mean she was pretty much just a smug bitch out for herself and if they keep it like that, fine. But stretching that out over time with her one-upping the boys and smirking smugly and then them winning it back could get old FAST. On the other hand if they pull a fasto redemption it`s clichéd as hell.

There seriously should never be romance with Dean though because she shot Sam which for Dean would translate to her getting on the shitlist. Hope the show wouldn`t pull the "perky girl" excuse where there are different rules for different genders. Hi Smallville, looking at you.
Equally he seems to really not like her and unlike what TV means to tell us general annoyance does rarely translate to hot sexual feelings. Mostly it just stays general annoyance. So keep them at odds always and we`re good.

Btw, does ANYONE still fall for the old villain`s spiel about how it`s just the world and not them that`s villainous and noble people just suck? Come on. I`m embarassed for any villain having to give this trite excuse.

So all in all very much better than the last two. I hope it does continue to move up.

Lets play a game with myself, from the sides I think I`ll likedislike//love/hate:

3.04 - could go either way, 50/50 between like and dislike

3.05 - like to love

3.06 - depends on the execution, heavy dislike for some stuff

3.07 - love

3.08 - like to love

3.09 - oh dear, lucky if I don`t put a bullet in my brain there

3.10 - like if they get rid of some stuff

Very Final Destination there with the guy in the beginning
Is it just me or have the kill counts in this season gotten a lot more gruesome. I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to gore, but I'm covering my eyes a lot more this year than last.

On the ground laughing over here! You know he needle points it onto pillow cases during prison craft hour.

I actually really like the repeat and the shooting of Sam that came with it. I thought the line was a bit cheesy the first time around, but believable since I think Dean is good at reading civilians, victims, Sam and John. Reading hunters is sort of a new ball game for him though. John seems to have kept them rather sheltered from the rest of the hunting community, and I think Dean (in his lovable, slightly over confident Dean Winchester way) may forget who he's dealing with at times.

The repeat performance actually reminded me of Joss Whedon's writing.

And the shoe line! And Sammy's scrapped knees! Loved it!

No, it`s definitely not you, they seem to have upped the gore factor quite a bit. Thankfully having watched all three Final Destination movies I can now pretty much determine the exact single moment I have to turn my head sideways to be spared the "eek" factor. I`m okay with before and after but the moment it happens is not for me. :)

You know he needle points it onto pillow cases during prison craft hour.

Hee. Maybe they have these group therapy sessions and it will be like in that movie with Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep where Hawn`s character was so obsessed with Streep`s character that when she said her name in therapy all the other patients screamed in terror. *g*

I think they didn`t even give Jared a script, they told him to be his adorably klutzy puppy self and have at it. :)

Oh I didn't like the 'reading people' thing because you know Dean doesn't get enough "shining" moments where his strengths are really highlighted and I hate that they have now turned the "reading people" thing into essentially a joke. Dean really does not need to be "put in his place". Especially with Bela who just came across as sort of annoying smug, not in the slightest bit charming.

That said, overall I liked the episode. I found alot of it quite funny. I liked that Dean and Sam were interacting and being brotherly. Jared was adorable and Jensen was just great in both the funny and serious scenes. And Dean got to smart while at the same time being funny. :) See you guys can do it.

But I really truly did find Bela even worse than Ruby. I honestly thought that when she wasn't annoying she was just incredibly dull, she breathed no extra life into her lines, if anything they were flatter than they needed to be. If she was a one-off character I'd probably be neutral but knowing that we're going to be seeing her 11 more times just makes me cringe.

I also didn't like that Dean wasn't a bit more forceful about Ruby and that neither guy dealt with the possibility that she's some innocent girl whose body has been co-opted. I was glad Dean told Sam he shouldn't be dealing with her but was very disappointed about no mention being made of that because I honestly think it makes Dean and Sam both look very bad.

Yeah, his instincts are usually right on the mark and I think they shouldn`t make fun of that. It`s a valuable trait.

True. Please some other writers take note.

Well, you know how I think about her next one. The sides weren`t really encouraging. Still reeling from the stupid "schooling" moment.

I agree that the scene felt rushed for the severity of the topic. There were some points I think should have been in there.
