Okay, got my Season 1 Companion today and am just flipping through it.

Jared had posters of Jensen on his wall before starting the show? Posters of WHAT? Days of our lives? The gay cowboy shots? *rolls around laughing manically*

Also the note they got for Route 666 was "the girl can`t be on top"? WTF? I`ve seen shitloads of WB-shows, they totally had girls on top of guys before. Darla on Angel, Lilah on Wes etc.

My guess? Because the girl on top would imply she's the one in control, the hard-ass. Just look at the characters in your examples...

I know it was probably some weird Lilith-complex - which on the other hand I can`t understand because the WB was also fond of the castrating of male characters and the much "beloved" staple of showing women strong by having them bitchy and ballbusting or passive-agressive - but Angel at least was the lead as well.

So even with main characters and heroic macho-man they did this before so I`m a bit confused as trying to close the stable doors when the horse have already run.

I can't remember the Cassie/Dean sex scene in detail (and certainly don't care to do so) but are we talking positions here or rather top/bottom in the sense of active/passive or even Dom/sub which of course is not the same but, uhm, if we're just talking positions, with the girl on top you get a better view of the woman's body...and her tits and all, I guess, so nice view for those who wanna ogle her, no?

But then a statement such as 'girls can't be on top' doesn't fit in anymore. Out of context I understand the statement to refer to top/bottom in a Dom-y/subby kinda way which then would imply a macho-like view of sex, yes.

Well, either it was a "there is only sex in the missionary position - at night - between a maried couple - and even then only to make a baby" view of sex or the "he is the macho hero of the show, he needs to push the woman on the bed" view. Both are - well if nothing else deeply hypocritical for the - then - WB.

There are some hilarious photoshoots he did when he was quite young, Days of our Life-times and one has him half naked in a cowboy hat and it`s...undesrcibable. I don`t have a link handy right now but try googling his name, maybe with the keywords *cowboy photos* and you should find them.

I don`t know which country you`re from? I ordered mine from amazon. But other online bookstores or even normal bookstores should get it too.

I managed to google them... and my GooooD poor Jensen had to do that? He must wish those pictures gone so badly!
No wonder everyone refers to them as the Gay Cowboy Pictures... to a slashy fandom they are all the encouragement needed!
I found one of him and some guys form DoOL playing with a hose... its really hard to match that image to the Dean we see on Spn and the Jensen from interviews...
(not to mention those from 10inch hero)

Seeing pictures of him young made me realize why so many fics have him as boy-toy or have Dean having to sell himself young... he defined the word pretty...

I honestly prefer his more masculine look now he is older.. A man with lips fuller than mine doesn't do it for me... (because I actually have very full lips but he as teen had me beat!)

Yeah, some of this old photoshots scream "teenage hooker" or at least "youthful boytoy". I don`t know what the photographer was going for there. :)

First time I saw him on DA I was about to quit watching the show since my favorite character had been killed in the season finale... but then I was channel surfing and saw him was like " Who is that? Yummyyy"
And ended up continuing to watch the show for him! There he looks young and cute but not so much in a boytoy way... he starts to look as someone who as a friend of mine said " can throw you on a wall and have their way with you"

LOL I got that book, too, but haven't had a chance to read it. Maybe Jared had Dawson's Creek posters? I'm trying to remember if Jensen was in any of the season 6 promos, but I don't recall. Or maybe Jared was a Dark Angel fan? lol

Oh, I didn`t even know there were Dawson`s Creek posters. Somehow it didn`t strike me as a show that would generate lots of posters. Or Dark Angel ones. In any way I find it hilarious that Jared had them. These two just ask for it. :)

and yeah I think thats totally sexist, I dunno maybe its because them being the lead roles etc..I remember the opposite thing happening on Buffy lol which I always found kinda cool! I'm dying to get a S1 companion they look awesome!

It just threw me because Angel was on the WB too and he was a lead character who had women "top" him so why the hoopla now? Demons I get, network suits are crazy. :)

Yup, yup. Ich quote jetzt mal "Next thing I knew, they wanted me to meet this guy, Jensen Ackles, and I was like ´Jensen Ackles`? I have his posters on my wall."

Ich weiß auch nicht, war das erste mal, dass ich das gehört hab aber warum sollte er das erfinden? Und der Buchautor wird`s auch nicht aus der Luft gesogen haben weil da könnte er sich ja Ärger einhandeln, wenn er Interviewmaterial "erschwindelt".

Ich find`s einfach zum Schießen. Vor allem weil das doch bestimmt was von DOOL war. Heh.
