I know the term "misogyny" is being flung around in fandom in general with wild abandon which in some cases makes me downright annoyed as the word implies a certain severity of act/intent and to put the label to every little thing for me is to trivialize the experiences of victims. Same as for example would be putting rape and whistling after a woman in the same category. A victim of the former would be entirely justified to lay an epic smackdown on the latter bemoaning their tragic fate.

But claiming a pregnant actress being featured only briefly or not at all in certain episodes due to being, oh just too far along to work, is misogyny gets my personal headdesk. That`s a technicality arising from behind-the-scenes needs. What is a woman supposed to do, put her health and the baby`s health at risk to fill a quota? Is the production company supposed to rearrange their shooting schedule or what?

Ditto for a female character being killed off and other than friends/family mourning life in the fictional universe is shown as going on. I cant even...life does go on when people die, regardless of gender. The only way around this would have to be an amazingly special Messiah-like character whose death causes chaos in the fabric of life. And if this overblown destiny-crap is the only thing to give a female character adequate importance, it would be a sad state of affairs indeed. Screw you, little people, who do their job everyday but who are by themselves just small cogs in the wheel.
