Hee! I've never seen that either, but I've hard just a little about it. *g*
It`s hard to rec Highlander because the first two Seasons were rather lame. But in Season 3 Methos happened and he might just be the best TV-character ever. Okay, second best after Dean :) but he made the show into awesomeness. He was this nice, laidback funny guy and then they revealed he had roamed the lands, slaughtering and raping and viewer`s jaws dropped everywhere yet it still was not out of character and it still didn`t make him unsympathetic at all. He was just too cool. *g* And if you like brothers, Highlander has a lot of the brothers in arms concept.
I loved the old Battlestar as a kid but the new show is great too. Or at least it was in its first 1 1/2 Seasons. The writing and the characters were great. Then it started seriously going downhill. *sigh* I also watched all Star Trek shows and while I`m not a Trekker I really did like them since for once it was a positive future. Usually humankind has screwed itself over in sci-fi which is probably more realistic but sometimes depressing.
I`m an insane Star Wars nut. I can practically quote the dialogue. *geeks out* Even my Sci-fi hating mother liked it, at least she liked Vader and "his" music as she called it (the Imperial theme). :D
I also have an aversion to puppets and fake creatures. I'm not sure if I can get over that enough to want to watch Farscape, but I'm recording it and saving it anyway. hehe
I HATED Farscape at first, it was so weird and with the puppets and all, it was more like a drug trip. Years later I tried watching it again, this time more in marathon sessions and I fell for the characters so hard. Honestly the whumping that happens to Dean and Sam? Nothing to what poor John Crichton has to suffer. It`s still very weird but Season 3 made me cry, I was so invested in it.
OTOH, I've always been a big fan of buddy shows on TV (or brother shows), so that would be a reason to start watching. *g*
I remember all the detective shows when I was a kid like Colt Seavers, Simon&Simon, Riptide, A-Team. They were on in the early evening and it usually was around dinner time but my ten year old self demanded the table had to be set before it started or we were waiting until it was finished. My friends did the same, typical brats of the 80s. *g*
