The plots might not be new for you but they certainly are for me!
I don`t mean the actual cases so much as the writing overall, it`s pretty straightforward. Which isn`t even a bad thing but if I hated the characters I would not watch for the plots. :)
As for the atmosphere the poor show had to overcome that with me since I hate road movies, am not really into horror movies and don`t like Mullet Rock. *g* Back when Buffy ended and these rumours were going around about a spin-off with Faith driving across-country and hunting things I thought: what a crap-idea. :) Just found the whole concept boring.
Now I love them cruising around (though I still hate road movies), the Chevy Impala is the only car brand I recognize and I`ve been surprised with myself how much of the music I liked. But it really comes down to the charas for me.
