no, the garden fence is a reference to a discussion xkatjafx and me had with some Lost fans in a LJ community back during season 1. In an early episode Sun started her garden. A few episodes before that they made a big deal out of the boars on the island. xkatjafx and me were arguing that NO garden would survive the night with boars around, so if the writers were even trying to keep it real they should either have the characters build a garden fence or they should have the garden destroyed by boars by the next day. To this day, we are still waiting for the garden fence. The garden itself has by now been destroyed...by Sun's husband.
To me, the missing garden fence is an epitome of what has been wrong with Lost right from the beginning.
