Well, I think they permanently killed off Jeremy (which makes me sad because he actually had a lot of potential as character IMO) and that will lead to Elena flipping her humanity off switch.
Now I don`t believe they will make her Katherine because a) we already have one and b) she just came back to the show but it will make Elena someone we haven`t met yet and it will turn the neverending triangle on its head because neither Stefan nor Damon would want her to be that and she won`t be caught between loving them, she will love neither one.
I think it could be fresh and exciting if they don`t screw it up.
