I think I started to notice it more during the last 2 years, Season 5 and 6.
I mean, you still get the occasional geek reference and the guys are obviously still geeks as well but I miss the days when just as I was bitching to a friend about Sci-fi (the TV channel) being renamed into Syffy, Leonard would make the same pun in the show.
