The whole set-up with purgatory aka their first good idea in years? A stuff for a few flashbacks that doesn't have any bearing whatsoever on the main arc by the looks of it.

I was looking forward to the next season, but now not so much. And it's not even because of the overall storyline, but more because BOBBY WON'T DIE! And I like Bobby, but this is ridiculous.
