I saw this meme at [livejournal.com profile] katikat and thought to myself: self, why not? *g*

Best film:
X-Men: First Class The last movie that got me this obsessed was Star Trek two years ago. And I didn't even expect all that much from it but wow, fell head over heels there.

Biggest disappointment:
Pirats of the Caribbean 4 Maybe that seems harsh since I enjoyed it even on some level but I simply had higher expectations for it, I guess. Loved the first Pirates movie with a passion, yet every following one lacked something of that first magic IMO. I had hoped this one could bring it back. :/

Best het pairing:
Um...I don't think any couple set my heart aflutter in any of the movies I've seen. Don't get me wrong, there were some nice moments here and there in Captain America with Cap and Peggy and in Thor with Thor and Jane but no couple really gripped me.

Best slash pairing:
Charles and Erik from XMFC, now that one was easy since they are pretty much competition-free out of all the movies I've seen this year which had a bit of subtext here and there but C&E? Oh man, talk about the burning thigh sweats. :)

Best family:
Not sure here either. Thor was in essence a family drama but the Asgardians hardly qualify as best family. *g* I loved Charles & Raven in XMFC but considering how it ended, they also get disqualified here.

Best team:
The X-Men during training in the mansion. I just loved all their little montages.

Het ship I wanted but didn't get:
This might make me sound really weird considering I volunteered them up for best family (to a point) but I thought there was a spark from Raven towards Charles, that she wanted more (and was ultimately so disappointed in realizing that she'd never get his romantic love at least) and I would have loved exploring that a little.

Best special effects:
Chris Evans as a skinny, tiny dude in Captain America. For parts of it, I couldn't believe they actually really used Chris Evans and not some other actor. Well done.

Biggest "It was GREAT!" surprise:
Again, XMFC. After Wolverine and Last Stand, my expectations were somewhat low-ish.

Could've been better:
Green Lantern perhaps? I had no previous knowledge of the comic book character, other than knowing he existed, so I went in with an open mind but lots of it was really silly. The baddie with the literally growing head? Come on.

Most embarrassing moment:
Captain America being used as a silly promo guy. I HATE humiliation humour, makes me wanna change the channel.

Worst twist:
Am wracking my brain here for a twist that I didn't see coming and hated. I guess nothing again. There were scenes that hurt me emotionally but they were supposed to do that so that doesn't fit in here.

Best twist:
Again, I don't really remember a twist that actually surprised me. Maybe I just didn't watch enough movies.

Actor I fell in love with this year:
Just because I had never noticed him before in anything, Michael Fassbender.

Maybe, I'll do one for TV shows as well. :D
