Aug. 17th, 2013 06:20 pmI used my vacation to finally read Captive Prince (original m/m fic and high fantasy with political court intrigue the likes of which would make Tywin Lannister pale with envy) but google-fu informs me it will be released in 2014? Noooooooooooo. Wouldn`t have read something ending on a cliffhanger right now then. Somehow I was under the impression it would be out soon-ish. Damn.
Which is not to say the story isn`t worth it. Unlike fanfic where readers come pre-invested in a certain story, original stuff like this has to make you care in the first place. And okay, that is the entire premise of, well, novels but this thing was first published in a purely fan domain.
Also, in the matter of "did he or didn`t he know?" (read the books and the nature of that question becomes obvious), after some internal debate I`m of the "nope, he didn`t/doesn`t". Why? It involves his one sacrosanct purity kink in life. He can use the emotional issue of his past that made him believe in evil as a tool of manipulation now but not the one that still feeds his tiny belief in good.
