Technik, die begeistert

Anybody computer-savvy here who can tell me what to do when your computer is really, really, really, really slow. And even when it's fully started and I'm surfing the net, it constantly seems to be working and freezing my browser every few minutes. Because seriously, it is starting to be intolerable. That thing was smooth and fast when I first got it.

Now, I know some stuff, meaning I tried to clear my harddrive somewhat. I tried looking into if it is running many needless operations in the background in the taskmanager but I'm not all that sure what is needless and what is not. Any other possible problems/fixes?
