Oct. 27th, 2007 03:55 pmI`m hopping channels and land on Scrubs...the Musical. Now while I adored the Buffy-muscial, that was one in a million. TV shows doing musicals? Not such a great idea. Last week when they parodied House, it was quite funny. Today? Not so much.
Honestly I hope SPN never does one.
And oh joy, Grey`s is on next and it starts on Gizzie. I don`t even watch that show but did those two names get drawn from a head to be together? Like they do in soccer to determine who`s playing who? Oy.
They`re doing it a lot of Promo-work for SPN within the Halloween-theme, I noticed. Maybe that`s better since the trailer for "Dead in the water" wasn`t all that. Say what you want about Pro7 but I felt their Wendigo-trailer looked like it was for a scary, suspenseful and action-packed little horror movie.
There was someone who did Fan-trailers for Buffy/Angel once upon a time and they rocked. Even when the episodes itself didn`t. Too bad they don`t seem to watch SPN. I`d be interested to see a trailer from them. The new CW trailers are both good and bad to my opinion. Good in so far as they try to convey a creepy, suspenseful atmosphere, bad in that they are running on the CW, self-proclaimed home of shallow teen stuff or wholesome gay family shows.
And "grrrrl-power". You know from all the changes in Season 3, I don`t really mind the new girls. They don`t offend me, they don`t move me. I`m very neutral there but could that "Girls of Thursday Night" promo be any more pathetic? Emphasizing women as bitchy and haughty and putting down "jerk-men" to convey toughness? Oh, promo monkeys.
Well, so far our ratings have risen slightly, the demos even by a tiny little bit but I`m pretty convinced we`re skewing on the top range of the 18-34 market and higher. Which wouldn`t be a bad thing at all if the network would grow a brain and an understanding for even the limited market they`re trying to cater too.
Oh, in case anyone wonders why I`m babbling along nonsensically, well, I drank some sweet fine earlier. And then some more. Without eating first. Now I feel rather...fuzzy. *g*
