Remakes suck
May. 28th, 2006 03:41 pmFinally got around to watching Pride and Prejudice, the Keira-Knightley version. And this movie? Sucks out loud.
When Lizzie rejects Mr. Darcy`s first marriage proposal, they looked like seconds away from ripping each others clothers off and doing it right there. This is JANE AUSTEN. People don`t have angry hot sex in the world of Jane Austen. Probably not even AFTER they have been married. *headdesk*
And an alternate US ending where they are again all schmoopy kissy-face? WTF? It HAS a happy ending, what`s the problem.
Must bleach my brain with the highly superior BBC version.
Also watched most of Into the west because I read Christian Kane was in it. Was very disappointed he had such a miniscule part. All he had were a couple of bonding scenes with Ensign Kim. I feel cheated. *sigh*
Additionally storywise it wasn`t all that, I much preferred Rome in that aspect.
I`m a big fan of mini-series in general (oh Captain`s and King`s, how I miss thee, at least North and South is out on DVD), yet most of them, especially the ones spanning multiple generations, start out great but lose steam later on, just like Taken.
