Yep, so true. I love how this episode bitchslapped me in the face every two seconds. Two seconds before we discovered that Nick was the siren, I thought: "that's nice that Dean's bounding with a guy. That had never happened before." (kids and women, yes. Men? Not so.) That's was pretty much awesome.
My theory about what he and Ruby are doing is that Sam guzzles more demon blood. And it affects him.

He is now walking a path Ava, Jake and Ansem (probably others) walked before him. And since that has been the storyline forever, finally some progression.
Hell yes! And I'm so excited about it! Dean really needs to find a way to make him step out his this path, because I doubt Sam will be able to do it without him.
but heck while it's 10 kinds of painful, it is also entertaining.
This episode made me gleeful. Their relationship is so fucked up right now! It is painful but soooo entertaining!
