Of course, Merlin would set himself up because once Arthur is out, he could totally make his servant life miserable. :D
That's what a normal person would do. But knowing Merlin, I really much doubt he would miss the opportunity to take his sweet revenge on Arthur, even if it would mean even worse work conditions after that. Merlin strikes me as a "living in the moment" kind of guy. And I enjoy Arthur making his life miserable so much, I wouldn't dare to want him to change! LOL
