True. Though I guess I wouldn't have minded the brutality so much if...I don't know.
From phantisma I`d say "Brother`s Keeper" is a better choice. I read bits of that too. Maybe her writing style just isn't for me, I don't know. It wasn't bad but it didn't grab me that much.
Heh. Don`t feel bad, my brain is stuffed with nerd-knowledge. Though I do know more about cats than dogs.
