astri13Okay, I`ve finally made my way through Season 9 of Stargate and on the whole I liked it. The new people worked for me and I enjoyed the Ori-arc. It introduced a fresh new thing into the show.
The ending was somewhat repetitive. We had the unconquerable bad guys about to invade with their superior firepower and SG1 searching frantically for the conveniently introduced Superweapon - Ancient of course - to save the day. Cough, cough. I think I`m having a deja vu here.
Although I fear they are painting themselves in a corner with the Ori. These guys are just so uber-powerful. And neat how the medieval villagers still were able to build super-duper spaceships.
I know, the Priors probably powered them up with their own Superness but that`s kind of the problem. A little divine whiff and the Ori or their followers are unstoppable. Really, the Ancients should get off their asses and fight them themselves. I mean what else can all the other races do against ascended beings? That would be like fighting Q, pointless.
With the Goa`uld and even the Replikators, there was at least a chance of winning.
Will see how it goes. Like I said, I still very much liked the Season as a whole.
Oh, and in my neverending quest to pimp SPN I watched the Pilot with somebody via phone-conference. :) And I guess it`s high time for Season 2 since I start to nitpick on the oddest things. Here I thought the Lawrence fire-department or emergeny personel kind of sucked. You have this poor family sitting on their car after their life pretty much just burned to cinders. And nobody has even bothered to put a blanket on them. I mean, putting blankets on traumatized people is like LAW or something. :)
Poor wee!Dean is out there in his jammies.
Please someone tell me they at least checked these people for smoke ingestion. Man.
