it felt like TPTB wanted me to like Sam more than Dean, which just pisses me off when the writers are trying to tell the audience how they should feel.
And that always, always backfires for me. See Lex-Clark as well. The more the writers beat down on Lex and prop Clark to me as awesome, the more I love Lex and resent Clark.
