The writers want to see their fair share from DVD sells and downloads, the studios say "no way". Now the writers are prepared to strike, meaning no new scripts would be written after the ones that are already finished.
Writers who are also producers might not even work in that capacity. Basically a lot of shows would have to shut down production until the strike is resolved. And if it takes a few months it would mean we wouldn`t get more than 11-12 episodes for any scripted show. In the meantime networks would air reality, reruns and more reality. Urgh.
