Guess we`re two for two now?

Saw 3.04.

So yeah, I didn`t hate it but wasn`t blown away either. On the whole it was just very slow and expositionary with some good bits but not enough to make me jump up and down in excitement.

- Dean - Casey, their interaction was really well-played on both sides, why does this show do better with the casting of smallish parts? and I like that Dean is now in the loop more which will hopefully give him some direction again
On the other hand, all the info given in that scene ranges from "So?" to "Oh dear, you bit off way more than you can chew, show."

"Demons are just like humans." Please keep away from the moral shadyness. And I LOVE moral shadyness but since the days of Season 1, you haven`t been able to pull off true, subtle grey zones. Not once. And worse then NO grey is half-assed grey.

"Demons think humans are bad." I never thought they didn`t.

"The Theology of Demons and Storylines of ZOMG!Biblical!Stuff!Of!Epic!Proportions." The YED plan barely made sense. But at least it was kept relatively personal to the brothers. Now it`s all Demon War - I don`t care about - and Sam the Messiah of Hell - I don`t care about.

- I do care about Sam the person at the moment -quite a lot - but the more they are banging me over the head with his superspeshul destiny of worldspanning epicness, the more I lose interest again. That`s too out there for me. It`s okay in a show I started watching with that premise but we started with two relatively normal guys being thrown in extraordinary circumstances. Now one might be the AntiChrist. Meh.

If I were a demon - and could throw him into a windshield - I wouldn`t even DREAM about bowing down to him.
Also if he were the one and only Chosen, then everything on this show is predestined. John raising them as he did, Dean being screwed-up as he is. Because he needs the raise the Chosen One. Because OOPS, Messiah-guy croaked. That`s a hell of a plan.

So this whole storyline is of no interest to me right now. None. And while I have no opinion on Ruby, no hate, no love, she belongs in that convoluted mess so bzzzzzz. Either they pull a fast one on this plot that I haven`t seen yet - second half of the Season IF we get one - or I`ll start ffding it.

So Human!Sam will continue to hold my sympathy, MythSAM I`ll just blank out. I`ll just view them as completely different entities. Yay.

- Liked the guest actors. Casey and the Priest were really good. Richie was okay, Gen.Hammond wasn`t in much.

- Liked Dean being a competent hunter and generally giving us a bit of an insight into him.
While the nickel line was rather sleazy, I`ve kinda come to accept it by now.

And for the record, we have NO ONE seen doing an exorcism from memory. Not Bobby, not Tamara and not ever Sam either. So please show quit beating me on the head with the DimDean vs. Smart!Sam anvils. Who of them left his cell on when trailing somebody? SHOW, don`t tell.

- the last scene Sam - Ruby, honestly as someone who liked "Revenge of the Sith", I liked the scene better there. And it was basically the same.

All in all, I`m getting back with the characters but disliking the Myth-Plot. And since I only watch for the characters anyway, I guess that`s a bit unfortunate but fine.

And my personal views on eps aside, can I just say how much I resent the implication I see a lot at the moment that anybody who doesn`t like an ep and/or the Season so far is an idiot who doesn`t know quality or who likes bland cookie-cutter TV. Thanks for the condescenion, I guess. *headdesk*

Sorry to be the spoil-sport but the demons wouldn't bow to Sam NOW. But if things had gone according to plan Sam wouldhave developed all his powers like Ava and Jake and the demons had bowed to him THEN. There's a difference :-)

Clearly DemonPriest was trying to edge him on though and Ruby in a way does the same. So apparently there are still those who want him to lead - after he developed his powers of course - and I`m with Pride there. I`d take great pleasure in crushing him like a bug now for the extreme humiliation of being possibly forced to bow to a human.

Seems they`re getting very Judeo-Christian now and that was Lucifer`s prime beef. Being put behind measly humans. :)

Well, I think they're just choosing the lesser evil - maybe they're the ones unhappy with the struggle for power, so they take the human over it for all their sake's...

forgot

So apparently there are still those who want him to lead

Which was actually my point in the post though I didn`t make it clear. :)

Sam's storyline sucks even more than Dean's.
Actually they both just suck out loud.
I'll probably get a lot of grief for this but the season finale with the shooting of the YED felt...off. It lacked the ooomph necessary to convince me he's dead which has led me to speculate that he's not totally gone. I just have a funny feeling in my stomach we haven't seen the last of Mr. YED just yet.
*crosses fingers*
