Dollhouse has been renewed? That surprised me and I guess it spells bad news for the Sarah Connor Chronicles where they are really dragging their feet with announcing something. Sigh. Between the two shows, I would take the SCC in a heartbeat after the Finale they had.

You know, back last year when I heard J.J.Abrams and new Star Trek movie, I wasn't terribly with the faith. But hats off because

Enterprise ROCKED!!!

Like a rocking thing.

The characters and how they brought them together. And of course Kirk and Spock at the centre of it all was fantastic. I felt there were enough nods to fans, enough inside jokes that they put a new spin on so it would be equally fulfilling for newbies and for people who know the verse. Bones. Kobayashi Maru.

Now, I guess with the success - as far as I can see it is widely received with joy - a sequel is a no-brainer? GOOD.

I'm lemminging this from [personal profile] legoline but again, if all the cool kids are introducing their [profile] spn_j2_bigbang stories this year, I feel compelled to do it, too. Ahem.

Anyway, I'm boldly going where I have never gone before: Wincest. Of course you're now probably thinking "haven't I read this same fic like a hundred times already?" but I'm hoping to give it enough of a twist that people won't mind a hundred and one times. *g*

Title: The Man of his Dreams
Characters/Pairing: Sam/Dean, Bobby, Castiel, Pamela
Rating/Warnings: NC-17, Slash,

Summary: When Sam Winchester, only son of obsessive hunter-legend John Winchester meets young firefighter Dean Collins on a hunt, his interest is piqued for Dean reminds him of the imaginary friend Sam has never quite outgrown: a freckled, little boy with striking green eyes who would appear to Sam as nothing more than a vision for all his life. But Dean harbours some secrets of his own and might not be as normal himself as he appears on the outside. Will their budding relationship be strong enough to survive the forces of Heaven and Hell trying to finish what they started over twenty years ago?

I'm not sure if I have pimped it before but whoever isn't watching Criminal Minds, give it a chance. I find the writing pretty much consistently to be excellent and while it is a procedural, the characters have depth to them.

They also put work into their bad guys. The last episode for instance choked me up. Great performance by Alex O'Laughlin too, he managed to create a character that didn't remind me at all of Mick St.John.

Meet the loser who didn't get around to start her Bigbang draft - due today with no less than 20.000 words - last Sunday. Yesterday when I got home from work, I was at 9.000 words and despairing. This lovely Friday afternoon I'm looking loud and proud at 20.307 words (and still counting a little bit). Granted, it's gibberish and if someone would actually read that, they'd probably adivce me to break my typing fingers but it is a turn-in-able draft. Yay.

Now look forward to the editing process from hell. Hopefully my posting date will be way at the end of the schedule. *crosses fingers*

Still a bit of hope for the Sarah Connor Chronicles as well as Dollhouse, see here

My guess about TSCC? The network might be willing to give the show another try on the chance that the movie franchise will be re-invigorated with "Salvation". Otherwise, I really have no explanation for why no official cancellation notice hasn't been given. The numbers have been out there. And they haven't been good.

The article has bits from an interview with BAG which explains some questions the Finale has raised and gives some general spoilers for a possible Season 3. Future John Connor - the guy we never met but everyone talks about (in all but one futures :) may just be the greatest strategic mastermind of all times. Probably why we haven't met him. Pretty impossible to live up to the hype.

Also, did anybody see the behind-the-scenes-special on the sets of TSCC? And the quiz they gave the actors? I have to admit I didn't know one bit of trivia which was who was considered for the Arnie role of the 1984 movie and why that actor didn't get the part in the end. Cracked my shit right up.

My viewing schedule is pretty much full but I tried out Castle because I seem to have a hankering for crime shows lately. It's okay though I'm not sure how long the dynamics of him being the snooping writer, butting in on the investigation, is sustainable.

They are a laying it on a bit thick with Castle's chauvinism at times but it gets softened with the relationship with his daughter - who "raises" him in some way - and the mother - where he is more the adult. But they need to round out his character more, I think and especially that of the female detective. I'll keep watching, though, because that's how I felt about the beginning of Bones and now I quite enjoy it.

Last week I used to say I would be semi-okay if they announced the Sarah Connor Chronicles wouldn't be renewed. I was prepared and all. That was last week.

Now, I'm praying for a miracle because epic mindfuck here. I NEED this show to go on. Somehow. Somewhere. Beware of T-800-spoilers )
Anna
So, I just spend a pretty penny changing my flight to Birmingham because unlike all the other cons before this year's Asylum will get really rolling on Friday afternoon already. Including stuff I kinda don't want to miss. At least I could simply change it and didn't need to cancel/rebook which would have been even more expensive. Boys and angels, the things I'll do for you.

Next hurdle to climb will be to figure out how to best be at the airport in Frankfurt for my much earlier flight. Never a dull day.

So, a belated tandem review of SPN 4.17 )

and 4.18 )

Julie Siege, the new writer this Season, really is a keeper.

Which brings me to Dabb/Loflin, the other new writers, whom I just learned penned the next episode. Noooooooooooo. And for the first time I feel compelled not to watch because who in their right mind goes to a restaurant where they served them rotten, rancy meat for a third fucking time? *headdesk*
Anna
Had to go to court again today and drive there all by myself, which, with me sense of direction, is not an easy feat. But surprisingly it went well.

It also struck me that I forgot to review the last SPN eppie, due to spending the weekend in Wiesbaden and at the movies to see Jensen on the big screen. *licks* But anyway, a few words on 4.16 )

I came, I saw, I liked, I rambled. :)
Anna
First off, a very Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] kat_fanfic

Secondly, I know I've been pretty absent lately but new job is kicking ass, namely mine. In my second week I had to go to court and do cases already because we're just so damn understaffed it's unfunny. And I can't go online at work - well, not privately at least - because they're really tightbutts about it. You get caught surfing the web for fun, it's hell to pay. So my lovely virtual social life is now only taking place on weekends and in the evenings. *grumble*

That unfortunate situation also cut down on my fic-writing time. Of course I had ample time to write before starting the job but apparently I'm the world's greatest slacker. Today ends my extension for the rom-com communities and fic is far from ready. Sighs. But it damn well will be and if it kills me. Same for the other challenge fics. Even with all the papers on my desk - I'm starting with 118 unfinished "projects" from my predecessor, in addition to all the ones I'll be getting in new of course, yippie - I managed to sneak in a bit of fic writing on the job. Oh, what, I've worked there two whole weeks and already have accumulated 5 proud hours of overtime.

Am trying to catch up on shows as well and watched newest episodes of SPN so here is to 4.15 )

All in all, a keeper. :)
Anna
If you haven't done so already, be a doll, flist and give Dean a little click here *puppy eyes*
Anna
As of Monday next week, I will have a new job. \o/

Will be with the "appeal department" in the Job Center. Where I was briefly "stationed" last year so at least I know the place a little bit already.

Granted, it's only for the duration of this year but that still means steady paycheck for the next ten months. And being employed by the Job Center, hopefully that means I can handle my job situation beyond this year a bit better.

Now, need my body back to different daily rhythm asap. Oh boy.

SPN has been RENEWED for Season 5!!! CW gives sign it will stick around next year!!!
